This building known by its name in Spanish, “Edificio Torre” is one of the most Emblematic buildings in Downtown Merida from the mid-century period. Located on Calle 59 in Santiago, this amazing building was built for the Torres family for their auto parts business in 1959 and has had few alterations since. Located at the corner of Calle 70 the property consists of basically 3 separate areas: the large main building, a private parking area and a service area which has a typical Merida colonial facade
The main block has a period entry room with an imposing staircase that leads up to the second-floor offices and a large space that is repeated on the second and third floors. In addition, there is a large cargo elevator and the spaces may be divided and subdivided utilizing the facade on both 70 and 59th street sides.
