Taking its architectural cue from mid-century Italian arquitecture, this striking two story building, on a quiet Santiago street is full of surprises and ingenuity.
Originally conceived of as a working artist space with sleeping accomodations, this two-storey house lends it self to be the perfect pied a tierre or seasonal retreat. The downstairs has a full kitchen with all Smeg appliances, outdoor terrace with filtered pool, and an amazing orange cube-that not only is a focal point of interest, but doubles as a bathroom as well. Up a spiral staircase is a dramatic bedroom, with walk in closet and a full bathroom, offering contemplative views of stark exterior walls. An interior staircase leads to the roof area for enjoyment of sunsets over downtown with its beautiful buildings as well as the vegetation of the city.
This small home is a unique building, that although blending in with the traditional architecture of the area, proudly represents the strength of future architecture here in Merida. It would be a pleasure to give you a personal tour by appointment.
